Mathematics Seminar in Farum

Math Camp, Farum

The Seminar is designed for students at any academic stage, from high school to university, offering a delightful week in Farum immersed in the world of mathematics. It encompasses a wide range of mathematical fields and formats, enriched by other activities within a close-knit community. Additionally, we run non-mathematical activities in the evenings, led by participants, tutors or organizers. These include a variety of funny games, allowing attendees to discover new interests or simply enjoy themselves.

The core of this camp consists of lectures and workshops led by our camp's tutors. We aim to offer a diverse set of topics, catering to the interests of all participants. Typically, we run multiple simultaneous lectures, each targeting a different background. We strive to feature topics from both Olympiad math and pure mathematics, ensuring its relevance to undergraduate students and making it approachable for those unfamiliar with advanced mathematical themes. Our tutors come from various European universities, including EPFL, Sorbonne, Free University of Berlin, HSE in Moscow, and those in Geneve, Vienna, Copenhagen, Oslo, etc.

Additionally, we encourage participants to share their insights by giving short talks during the camp. Whether it is a favourite book chapter or a captivating solution to a competition problem, these talks introduce attendees to different math ideas and boost their interest in certain areas. Preparing and presenting a topic can be an enjoyable experience! If any participants are hesitant, our tutors might be available to help structure and guide their presentations.

It is a lovely place indeed!
